The theft occurred early Monday, July 31, in Schenectady County at a business in Princetown, according to New York State Police.

Troopers were told that someone made off with a utility truck and a construction trailer.

The vehicles were later found roughly five miles away, in the town of Rotterdam.

On Sunday, Oct. 29, troopers arrested Brendan Coogan, of Schenectady, after an investigation found that he drove the vehicles without permission after they were stolen.

Coogan is charged with one count of criminal possession of stolen property, a felony.

He was arraigned at the Schenectady City Court and returned to the Schenectady County jail, where he was already being held on an unrelated matter.
